A wonderfully verstatile ingredient that you can use in a variety of seafood dishes.
Whether they are stuffed with your favourite filling, sliced and coated to make squid rings, or seasoned and grilled on their own, they can be enjoyed by anyone.
Squid is firm, white, tender and shiny, and easy to defrost and cook. Whole Squid is easy to prepare for cooking, with minimal waste.
While it can be cooked in under two minutes with great results, it is also great when cooked slowly, which can be done in around 20 minutes for baby squid.
Commonly found on the continental shelf in waters below 300m depth, it is sometimes found at depths of up to 500m.
Preparation: All Squid should be cooked very fast (two minutes) or long (two hours) - anything in between may produce something very rubbery.
Shelf life: Best consumed on arrival or within 3 days from receiving product if defrosted.
