Frozen Oysters:
Our Oysters are blast frozen immediately after arriving fresh, ensuring they retain maximum flavor. The Use By date reflects the original fresh date, but rest assured, they have been stored in our commercial freezer to preserve their quality.
For the best experience, we recommend cooking these Oysters. Consuming them raw is not advised.
Bluff Oysters, otherwise known as dredge oysters, are widely distributed around the coast, where they form dense beds in gravel or coarse sand bottoms from 25 to 50 metres deep.
Made famous by the annual Bluff Oyster & Food Festival, some say that Bluff oysters are the finest in the world. They are grown slowly in the cold clean waters of the Foveaux Strait. In season, they are dredged by Bluffs oyster fleet.
Availability: Fresh Bluff Oysters season is from approximately February to June each year. Frozen Bluff Oysters can be purchased year round while stocks last.
Shelf life: Best consumed on arrival or within 5 days from packed on date, check date on pottle.
